Abstract:
Chinese herbal medicine has a pivotal role in the history of medicine in China, but there are relatively few examples and literature available about the application of its stylistic elements in the design of luggage. Through the existing cases, the application methods and skills of some Chinese herbal elements were analyzed in the design of clothing and apparel. Taking the eight representative Chinese herbs of Zhejiang as examples, this paper briefly described their concept, history and content, summarized their application in women's bag design in terms of shape, color, texture and pattern, and investigated and analyzed the target population and style positioning. Using the current female bags as the carriers, the original ecological modeling elements of four Chinese herbals were innovatively recreated and derived by using the techniques of simplification, planarization, decomposition, reconstruction and replication, and were arranged and combined in the design of women's bags in a given way. The aim is to explore the feasibility of the innovative application of Chinese herbal modelling elements in the design of women's bags, so as to provide new ideas and references for the design of leather goods with both traditional cultural connotation and modern aesthetic concept.
