Abstract: Sichuan opera is the intangible cultural heritage in China. Facial makeup art is the artistic expression of Sichuan opera, which is unique, flexible and changeable. The application of facial makeup art of Sichuan opera in the leather product design can improve the visual beauty and cultural value. The cultural connotation, modeling features and artistic?characteristics of facial makeup art of Sichuan opera have been discussed. The application of facial makeup art of Sichuan opera in modern design has been analyzed. Based on the shoes and bag, the artworks on the theme of facial makeup art of Sichuan opera were finished through modern design method. It provides reference for the application of Chinese traditional elements in the leather product design.
