Abstract:
The fermentation broth of dechromed wet blue shavings was used as a soaking agent for alfalfa and wheat and a nutrient solution for wheat hydroponics, respectively, for seed germination and hydroponic application tests. Results of the seed soaking experiments showed that the higher the concentration of the fermentation broth, the higher the germination rate of alfalfa seeds, and the optimal germination concentration was 80 mg/L. However, for the large seeds such as wheat, which are rich in nutrition, the germination effect of the fermentation broth was not obvious. Results of wheat seedling hydroponic experiments indicated that the optimum concentration (100 mg/L) of the fermentation broth of dechromed wet blue shavings had a significant effect on the growth of wheat seedlings. It could improve effectively the height, dry and wet weight and moisture content of the wheat seedlings, as well as the chlorophyll and protein content of the leaves.
