Characteristics of Standing Foot in Young Male Patients with Flat Foot

  • In order to explore the foot shape characteristics of young male patients with flat foot, the differences and changing rules between normal foot and flat foot were analyzed. In this study, three-dimensional foot scanner was used to scan foot images and detect data. The indexes of arch height, foot angle and foot index were tested, and the foot shape characteristics of normal and flat foot were compared and analyzed. Flat foot's medial arch height and regional arch height were significantly lower than those of normal foot, and the lateral arch height was higher than that of normal foot. Longitudinal arch angle of flat foot is smaller than that of normal foot, hallux valgus angle and heel angle are generally larger than that of normal foot, but the difference between hallux valgus angle and longitudinal arch angle is not obvious. The arch index of flat foot increased slightly, and the ankle turnover index increased significantly. Both of them exceeded the normal arch of foot and belonged to the category of low arch of foot. The foot pattern reflected by the regional index of two feet was consistent. Flat foot has different foot shape characteristics compared with normal foot. Therefore, significant differences in foot shape characteristics such as medial arch height, heel angle and ankle turnover index can be used as the basis for evaluating the development of flatfoot symptoms.
